It may sound odd, but there are some abdominal exercises that will make you look FAT! What?!!
There are a couple of exercises that you should avoid if you are not super-lean.

- If you’re not a professional athlete, DO NOT train your obliques.
- If you’re not under 10% body-fat, doing oblique exercises will push your waist out side ways.
- REMEMBER, the last place you lose your fat is around your waist so there is no need to make your waist bigger by doing abdominal exercises that will push your waist out.
- If you are in a sport that requires great all around core strength, then YES – you should train your obliques.
